What is professional transcription?

You choose per project between verbatim (exact rendering including hesitations and fillers — the norm for legal and litigation work) and clean-read (polished for readability — ideal for blogs and editorial publication). Timestamps on request, per segment or per word. Speaker IDs as standard for multi-speaker content. Lead time per audio hour is confirmed in the quote, depending on complexity and the number of languages. Transcription is in particularly high demand within the arts and culture sector as well as in legal, medical and academic research.

Language reach

Transcription in 225+ languages

From core European languages to low-resource markets — native transcriptionists per market and dialect, with full coverage of regional accents and specialist terminology.

Our process

How it works

  1. Receipt and assessment

You upload your audio or video file. We assess sound quality, accent and complexity to assign the right transcriptionist for your recording.

  2. Transcription by a native expert

A native language expert transcribes the recording manually or with AI assistance — depending on the quality requirements and the type of content.

  3. Verbatim or clean-read on your call

You choose: verbatim (exact rendering including hesitations and false starts) or clean-read (polished for readability). Verbatim is the norm for legal and medical content; clean-read is preferred for business and editorial use.

  4. Quality review

A second reviewer checks the transcript against the audio for completeness, accuracy and correct punctuation — including speaker labels and inaudible markers.

  5. Formatting and delivery

You receive the transcript in DOCX, TXT, SRT, VTT or any other required format — ready for downstream use. Optionally with timestamps and speaker IDs.

Human precision as standard

Our transcriptionists hear what AI models miss.

A quiet speaker in the background, a domain-specific term, a regional accent — that is precisely where automatic transcription stumbles. Our native transcriptionists capture those nuances and deliver content that is immediately usable for legal, medical or editorial work.

How accurate is your transcription?
Native human transcription delivers substantially higher accuracy than automatic speech recognition, which routinely makes mistakes on complex audio, multiple speakers or strong accents. Every transcript is reviewed by a second native specialist against the original audio where the work requires it — a hybrid QA approach rather than a single-pass machine output.
Can you transcribe lower-quality audio?
Yes. Our experienced transcriptionists work with suboptimal audio — phone recordings, background noise, indistinct speakers. We explicitly mark passages that are inaudible, so you know exactly where the uncertainties are. That transparency is more honest than AI tools, which sometimes guess.
Are verbatim and clean-read both available?
Yes, both. Verbatim captures everything as said — including repetitions, hesitations and fillers ("um", "uh"). It is the standard for legal and litigation work. Clean-read removes those elements for a readable, fluent text — ideal for editorial publication. You choose per project.
Can you transcribe with speaker labels?
Yes. For multi-speaker recordings we add speaker labels (Speaker 1, Speaker 2 or names where known). Standard for interviews, meetings, depositions, court recordings and multi-participant podcasts.
Is my audio kept confidential?
Yes. We treat all received material confidentially. On request we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Standard for legal, medical and confidential business recordings. After delivery and sign-off we remove the source data in line with the agreed retention period.
How does your pricing model for transcription work?
Rates per audio hour, depending on: language (core languages are more affordable than rare ones), number of speakers, complexity (technical jargon takes more time), verbatim or clean-read, audio quality and required timestamps or speaker IDs. For large volumes (e.g. 50+ hours) we offer tiered rates.
Can you transcribe and translate at the same time?
Yes. Many clients order a combined package: transcription in the source language plus translation into one or more target languages. That is more efficient than separate orders and ensures tone-of-voice consistency. Ideal for podcasts launched across multiple channels, or court recordings that must be available in two languages.
